THE ART OF METAL COVER OF THE WEEK: WHITE CHAPEL - THIS IS EXILE
Horror and death metal go hand and hand. The artwork reflects the dark depravity of the music and that's why you're not going to find any images of happy unicorns on album art (unless they're being bludgeoned to death). White Chapel have perfectly captured the intensity of their brutality with the cover to "This Is Exile" by artist Colin Marks. The image of someone with a burlap sack over their head and wrapped in barbed wire looks amazing. The artwork is truly some sick shit and that's why it was an obvious choice for Sik World's "The Art of Metal Cover of the Week".

EVILE BASSIST PASSES AWAY ON TOUR
In a truly tragic moment in the world of metal, Evile bass player Michael Alexander died while the band was on their European tour with Amon Amarth. He was taken ill suddenly and rushed to a hospital in Lulea, Sweden, but did not make it. The band was touring in support of their new album, "Infected Nations", which came out on Earache Records. The true tragedy is that this was the group's best work to date, sounding like a cross between Slayer and Sepultura. The album was garnering significant press from the likes of KERRANG and Revolver, who were hailing the band for their return to classic thrash and Alexander will never see his true moment in the musical spotlight. Anyone wishing to donate to The Mike Alexander memorial fund is encouraged to go to http://www.mikealexander.co.uk/, and while you're at it, make sure you pick up a copy of EVILE's "Infected Nations", it's an incredible work of Thrash Metal art.
