NEW ITEM OF THE WEEK - TGIF (Tongue Goes in First)
Don't you hate it when guys can't read directions? Road trips are a nightmare, and don't get me started on IKEA! Well, Sik World's new "TGIF (Tongue Goes In First)" Thong takes all the guess work out of foreplay and guarantees he (or she) goes downtown before you put out. Hell, these bad boys even GLOW IN THE DARK, so there's no chance that you're not gonna get what's cumming to you. My High School math teacher used to always say "When all else fails, follow the directions." And I've tried to live my life by that code. Then again, she also said "When in doubt, X=4" and I have no fuckin' idea what that means. Now If I could just get the image of my High School math teacher in a thong out of my head. Ewwww..

THE ART OF METAL COVER OF THE WEEK: DARKEST HOUR - DELIVER US
?While John Baizley is the guitarist & vocalist in sludge/progressive metal band Baroness, he is also one bad-ass artist. His distinct style of colorful artwork graces the cover of not only Baroness records, but also discs by Pig Destroyer, Kylesa and Skeletonwitch. Baizley turned in possibly his best work for Washington, D.C.'s Darkest Hour on their 2007 album "Deliver Us". Reminiscent of the art nouveau period from the dawn of the 1900s and particularly the artist Alphonse Mucha, this cover is a beautiful example of the depth of illustrative history within the range of Heavy Metal imagery.

SOIL ROCK THE 'WORLD
Losing a member can be a huge blow for any band, but losing a singer has the potential to destroy most bands. Very few have ever swapped out their singer and not sucked. AC/DC did it bu7t they’re and exception to most rules. Then you have bands like Velvet Revolver that tried to create the sequel to Guns N' Roses and failed miserably. Chicago's SOIL replaced their original frontman in 2005 and came back swinging in 2006 with their best album "True Self". New frontman AJ Cavalier was a beast behind the mic and fit the band's sound perfectly, as his melodic, hard rock voice was a little grittier and less polished which was what SOIL's music needed. The unfortunate part was that "True Self" was sandbagged by thier label and it didn't get the proper exposure it deserved. Now SOIL is back and ready to destroy with their new album "Picture Perfect" out October 20th through Bieler Bros Records. The group is currently streaming one new track "Like It Is' online at www.myspace.com/soil and if that track is any indication, this album is going to be a fucking behemoth. Catch 'em on the road right now with one of the best tour packages in a long time with Kittie and Straight Line Stitch.
