Get ready to party 'cause it's time for the Freak's X-mas, aka Halloween. I think once everyone finds out that Santa isn't real (guess the cat's outta the bag now), they grab onto Halloween in their quest for an identity during the holiday season. Or maybe it's because on Halloween you're supposed to dress up funny, so it's the one day that all of us freaks can blend in. Or maybe because it's the only day that you're supposed to take candy from strangers. Anyway, there's a ton of reasons to love Halloween, scratch that, there''s only 2 reasons, but they're big ones, Tricks and Treats. Either way, enjoy your holiday all you Sik Freaks, you deserve it.

THE ART OF METAL COVER OF THE WEEK: SLAYER - WORLD PAINTED BLOOD
?Keep it simple stupid! Isn't that what you were always told when you were young? Slayer kept that in mind when they were they were designing the cover to their new album "World Painted Blood". The group's album cover is a simplistic image of a bloodstained map of the world with SLAYER in gigantic letters slapped across the front. Honestly, what else do you need to know other than it's a new SLAYER record and it will tear your face off? These guys have been tearing it up for almost three decades now and they are still cranking out solid albums.

BAND FEATURE - ARKAEA
After taking some much deserved time off from Fear Factory, Christian Olde Wolbers and Raymond Herrera have returned with ARKAEA, a new project featuring Threat Signal singer Jon Howard and bassist Pat Kavanagh. The group have recently released their debut album, "Years In The Darkness", on E1 Music and it picks up exactly where they left off in Fear Factory. Wolbers delivers the signature FF machine gun riffing and Herrera brings his jaw-dropping drumming, while vocalist Jon Howard spits fire up like a young Phil Anselmo ready to destroy. Check out ARKAEA's video for Gone Tomorrow. Take our word when we say these guys put together a fantastic debut album. The band was recently ripping shit up on tour with KITTIE, SOIL and STRAIGHT LINE STITCH. Keep an eye out for their next outting in the upcoming months.
